I'm thinking Freeride.com is nothing but a scam-site that doesn't pay, but I'm wondering what YOU think. I cashed out for a $10 GC to Amazon.com on April 8th of this year, and never received the reward. They promise that rewards will be received within 8 weeks, and say to contact them if that doesn't happen. I've now contacted them THREE different times, and have never received a response of any sort. As it is right now, I'm dangerously close to the 120-day 'limit' for reporting non-received rewards - as in, if they don't respond to me within the next week or so I'm out of luck, even though it's THEIR FAULT that they've chosen to ignore my queries.
Just for my records, here's the note that I just sent them. Don't worry - the first two requests were polite and to the point. I only get nasty when I'm repeatedly ignored.
"This is my third request. Since no one bothered to respond to the first two, I will be posting it to a very public forum, and will also post any response that I may happen to receive from Freeride. The way I see it, your failure to respond means that Freeride is a fraud site, and I feel like everyone out there has a right to know that you don't pay what you owe.
That said, I ordered a $10 Amazon certificate back in April, and have yet to receive it. PLEASE CONTACT ME REGARDING THIS ISSUE ASAP. Since I'm posting this in a public place with a timestamp, I feel like your 'within 120 days' limit no longer applies to me. It isn't my fault that you've chosen to ignore me for nearly 4 months.
I can be reached at [email address].
Anyone else had a bad experience with freeride.com?
I DO NOT recommend this 'rewards' program, in case you've not guessed by now. As far as I'm concerned, it's a scam. Of course, I'll be happy to change my 'review' to reflect any response I may receive from them, but for now, I'm not holding my breath.
Update: Not surprisingly, I didn't hear back from Freeride. I did the math, and it's now been 119 days since I redeemed my points. Their cut-off for investigating 'lost' rewards is 120 days, so I'm thinking that they have no intention of helping me out here. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Wish me luck. If they don't respond favorably, I'll be smearing them all over the place as a non-paying site.
