Last night my daughter and I went to see Mama Mia. My mom was supposed to come but she has been having a lot of dental work lately and one of her teeth started hurting so bad she couldn't stand it so she wanted to stay home and go to bed.
When we got in to the movie theater I had to laugh the movie theater was about half full, which I think is pretty good for a Tuesday night. What was really funny is that there was not one man in the audience. Shortly before the movie started 2 men did come in with wives or girlfriends, but the audience was overwhelmingly women.
We got to the movie about 2 minutes before it was supposed to start. I thought we were going to be late, but little did I know that the starting time of the movie meant the starting time for 10 minutes of commercials. I am not exagerating I looked at my cell phone clock when we got there, and then looked again when the commercials were over, then there were about 6 long previews, and to be honest 4 of them were quite boring.
The movie was cute. It was a little tacky at moments but it was fun. I thought Meryl Streep did a really good job and was impressed by how well she can sing. Pierrce Brosnan kind of made me laugh when he sang, I don't know why but he looked kind of funny to me when he sang. He is still very handsome though.
Amanda Seyfried who played the daughter was adorable (She was the ditzy blonde in mean girls.)
The scenic views in the movie were also incredibly beautiful. Apparently it was shot in Greece.
This was not really even close to the best movie I have even seen but it was very entertaining, and it was a nice light entertaining film.
The music was very contagious, and my daughter and I sang Mana Mia and Dancing Queen all the way home. Do I see a movie sound track in our future?
