According to Knoxville's police chief, a man who shot and killed two people during a children's musical at a Tennessee church, yesterday, targeted the church because of its liberal views, . The suspect has been charged with first-degree murder. Others were wounded.
THAT bit of news gives me the creeps, since just before I read that I was at a gay chat thing at Yahoo and some creep popped in there to say all gays should all be shot in the head. I read that kind of threat all the time on the web, all over, but still.
Horrors.

Then this - yikes.
Sometimes a person gets a few screws loose and steps over the line and really does it.
sounds pretty stupid doesn't it ?

LOL Willaim
I don't hate anyone I don't have time and live is short enough, as for the mentally ill of which I am one ( not a gun toting lunitic ) I think it's about time mental health issues were treated like any other illness and people were better educated.
Maybe?
That's VERY different from targeting a gay pride parade. It looks to me like he thought a liberal CHURCH needed punished. Church and religion go together. Usually.
Yea taking a life to save one really makes no sense at all
I just wish he would have be discovered and helped earlier, before he picked up a gun in anger
"He had 76 rounds with him. Police said Adkisson carried a 12-guage semiautomatic shotgun into the church in a guitar case."
Of course some people say you should be able to bring guns into stores and churches or else only the outlaws will have them there.
frightening isn't it
Sad..
What ya think Pete?
But whatever.
He id literally one of those people who, when endiring hardship, clings to their faith, and ideas of what it right and wrong, and clings to their guns, and in their embittered state, looks to blame others like gays, immigrants (legal or otherwise). Basically they demonize anyone who does not look like themselves, outwardly, and do not have the same views, as themselves. Isn't that what Obama was warning against? Wasn't he attempting to appeal to others to not get caught up in such thinking, as no good thing comes out of this mentality, and only sad event result, should such a mentality guide ones actions.
You can't really tell why a person truly does anything.
I can't stand hate of any kind.
I would never condone it.
This is yet another disastrous example of how bad things can get under republican control. Mental health funding gutted, no hope of universal healthcare, jobs shipped overseas to benefit wealth republican campaign contributors, lax gun laws, and, of course, inadequate unemployment funding. Mix that together with a "liberal" dose of the likes of Coulter, Savage, Limbaugh, o"reily, all of whom have advocated killing liberals, and just look at what happens. Another human tragedy. Typical, predictable, and entirely preventable.
