John McCain has a comprehensive economic plan that will create millions of good American jobs
He doesn't say how ... and "millions"? Thousands is even a hopeful projection right now.
The small business support he takes about (to cite an example section) rests its viability on energy policy. It goes on to tout the $5,000 annual health insurance tax break (that doesn't even cover the cost of an individual policy, let alone a family plan) as an important component to reduce costs. $5k is a joke without comprehensive health plan accessibility reform and price control. He talks about tax cuts, but the taxes of many SMB owners went up with the Bush "tax cuts" -- only the large business owners got breaks. The first-year expensing of items is already allowable in most SMB-level expenditures under tax code. Everything he lists, in reading it, is either not new or non-viable IMHO.
That Phil Gramm was helping shape his policy regarding banking and mortgages doesn't exactly bolster my confidence (read: Gramm-Rudman).
My sense is that he is just so out-of-touch he doesn't recognize that he has no plan.
but his policy handlers are asleep on the job
They're trying to wrap a sow in a silk dress
It still stinks!
