Does your girlfriend (or wife) claim you are too domineering? Does she accuse you of acting differently around her sister, best friend or even the ugly receptionist at the office? Here's the information that gets you off the hook. It's not your fault.... it's your hormones!Like most women, I obsess over the men in my life with great frequency but confess I still do not completely understand them. Science may one day find a way to relieve my gender of this burdensome behavior, but in the meantime I will console myself with the latest research on men.
As much as we complain about you, guys, our lives would be empty without you. Typical as can be, I worry about my son, husband, son-in-law and brother with the same concern. Oh, no, not because they are immature or naughty, but merely because they are men. Men do things like cut down huge trees by themselves and hurt their backs. Or get into a horrid accident because it was 11:00 at night and foggy, tossed back a few and then went out boating with friends on the ocean. And the one who moved to San Francisco and now plans to forever live somewhere within greater civilization, even though his mother lives in the boonies, has to be forgiven someday.
The article linked below focuses on male lust and some of its affects on male behavior. The researchers also offer an explanation on why men are such great B'sers once they get around women. It seems that women of all sizes, shapes and levels of attractiveness will make your testosterone rise, which stimulates a man to behave in a more 'manly' way. The link describes this behavior as follows:
"The rising levels may then fuel more visible changes in male behaviour that occur in the presence of a woman, including a squaring of shoulders, an upright posture, and greater use of hands - and even, it is suggested, a flaring of the nostrils. What is interesting to me about this article is that it suggests if a man wants to be able to appear more attractive to women, he might consider spending more time alone with a woman or two with whom he is unacquainted before he goes out on the hunt. One could potentially extrapolate this data to even suggest that bar and coffee shop hook-ups would be a lot more understandable from the male perspective. Their hormones would be in high gear with all the new women they would meet in those situations and that would in turn make them more attractive to the women. A win-win for everybody, right?
The rise in the male hormone may also be the reason why men are more likely to tell women exaggerated stories about their job, career, education and earnings, the researchers believe. The study, published in the journal Hormones and Behaviour, involved 63 male students aged 21 to 25 who were not aware of the purpose of the study."

Oh, don't worry, guys. We love you just the way you are and find your behavior endlessly fascinating. This information just makes it easier to make excuses for you when you do misbehave. Now if the researchers could only find some reason that guys could benefit from hanging out with their mothers and sisters, I would be an even happier woman. You guys know how much we love you, right?

Oh yeah. We love our men.
Your article is Featured in the Triple Name Club.
On a serious note good article :)
Hmmm......sounds awfully similar to a feisty pig or a charging bull, doesn't it? Now I certainly don't mean to imply that such similiarities exist, but if the shoe fits.......
Loved your article!!
Honestly? I think it must be pretty difficult being a man. You guys have such a direct approach to life, I don't know how you do it. We are always roiling around and making things more complicated... so it is much easier on us.:) Besides, I thought it was funny that not only can we blame things on our hormones, so can you guys.
Secondly... weirdness depends upon the viewpoint of the observer and from a male perspective.... women are the weirder of the two genders....being from Venus and all.
Thirdly...It is not men who rule, it is women. Ask any married man.
And lastly...men posturing and women reddening their lips and blushing their cheeks are the same types of behaviors.
And lastly, lastly...the mysteries of the differences between the sexes is an important part of sexuality.
Men, can't live with them but sure can't live without em.
Might be in trouble now LOL.
1. Women are always right.
2. When women are wrong refer to rule number 1.
LOL
I'm coming over to your place to see what else you have created!
Blessings ~
Rene
I just roll my eyes at my hubby all the time when he mentions any other woman but me.
I know it's just hormones and he always comes home to me.
