So I'm spending my day off in a Starbucks online. Yep, I paid for a day pass, brought my laptop, headphones, etc, and I'm just getting caught up on online things. I don't even like Starbucks really because I don't drink coffee and don't really care of much else that they have, but McDonald's doesn't have outlets to plug my laptop into (even though they have wifi).
I just headed to the bathroom and noticed that there's a cord hanging down from beside the toilet that says "pull in case of emergency." I know what the cord is for, of course, and it's kinda nice that there's one there in case, well, there's an emergency and someone needs help, but it just seems to random to be in a public restroom, and of all places, in a tiny Starbucks in the middle of no where.
The McDonald's doesn't have a ball pit, the Wal-Mart is a regular one from years ago, and the car wash only has one working vaccuum.....but the Starbucks (shocking they even have one) has an emergency pull cord. How did that happen?
Have you seen a pull cord like this in a public restroom before? Is this the norm now and I just missed it or is it something out of the ordinary?

I actually have made those emergency pull cords from start to finish! They were the most fun thing to make at work. I built the computer boards, put on all of the hardware and even did the testing! I know that isn't that interesting but it really feels so cool to be able to create a product from scratch!
