I admit this is a bit of silliness and frivolity. I was going through one of my e-mail accounts to make room for my Gather e-mail when I came across this. The account I have been using is not working. I sent an S.O.S. to the provider and have not heard back from them. So, sorry, if you can't expedite my request when I cannot even read my e-mail (though the list is very pretty) then I have to move along.
This is a survey by an site called This Day In Music. Here is what they said about it in the e-mail:

Leading the poll so far have been John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham.
Bonham died in 1980, aged 32 after a heavy drinking session after inhaling his own vomit after excessive vodka consumption.
Other musicians who are fairing well in the poll include, Karen Carpenter, Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain, Jeff Buckley, Ian Curtis from Joy Division and former Who drummer Keith Moon.

I have to say all good choices. But, I would have to choose John Lennon. I have never seen him live (or dead) and would love to be able to sit in and hear him sing songs of peace, love and imagining a better world.

The Momma,s and Poppa,s werent bad but dont know what catagory they were in.
From the rock section, though, even as there are many of the names listed above that I would enjoy bringing back so that they might make more music, to see one person perform, with all the associated showmanship, talent, and professionalism of an artist who knows excellence and how to bring it to the stage, I would select Frank Zappa. YEA Mothers!
