(Is Homosexuality Wrong & Does It Hurt Society??---PART FOUR)

In the fifth paragraph of Phil Magnan's article he says:
"There is less likelihood that a same sex couple will even be alive to care for their child. One of the reasons that Homosexual couples should not be able to adopt children or take in foster children is that according to many studies, the life span of homosexuals is much lower than that of heterosexuals. These tragic conditions create a much less stable home life for that child. Giving a foster or adopted child to homosexual parents is a form of relational child abuse. The child has been placed in a home in which the parents have an inherent shorter life span."
In this paragraph, Mr. Magnan attempts to argue against the idea of gay couples being able to adopt children (as if the idea that they couldn't possibly be loving or monogamous wasn't enough!) Without presenting a shred of proof to support his claims, he just comes right out and states that gays have a much shorter lifespan than heterosexuals. No statistics......No numbers or figures.......and, most importantly, no source reference other than his own homophobic opinion.
One little piece of absurd irony that I noticed immediately was someone arguing against the idea of homosexuals being born gay using the word "inherent" in a sentence. The word inherent means: "existing in someone or something as a permanent and inseparable element, quality, or attribute:" How can homosexuals have an "inherent (sic) shorter lifespan" if the elements, qualities, or attributes of homosexuality are not also equally "inherent"??
Moving on to the sixth paragraph of Mr. Magnan's article, he says:
"Children should not be exposed to the higher levels of domestic violence of homosexuals. Another reason that same sex couples should not care for foster or adoptive children is that same sex couples experience much higher levels of domestic violence than their heterosexual counterparts. Some studies show that the rate is at least three times higher than that of heterosexual couples. It seems unkind to force children to be exposed to this higher level of violence."
"The book Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them: Battered Gay Men and Domestic Violence by two homosexual researchers “estimated that 650,000 homosexual men are victims of domestic violence each year, compared to figures from the FBI which showed that last year 1,300 hate crimes were reported.”
He starts off with the sentence, "Children should not be exposed to the higher levels of domestic violence of homosexuals." Higher levels than who?? Heterosexuals?? What Mr. Magnan doesn't tell us is that his comparison is based on a study that compared gay men abused by their partners to heterosexual men abused by their female partners. He makes it sound as though he is talking about all heterosexual spousal abuse (particularly that of husbands abusing their wives). But he cleverly uses the term "heterosexual counterparts" instead of just saying "heterosexual MEN."
Any woman who has even casually studied the subject of men abusing women knows that the incidents of abuse against women range anywhere from one to several million a year. In fact, women are five to eight times more likely to be victimized by a man than the other way around. Statistics say that 1 out of every 4 women in America will be a victim of domestic violence, while the same statistics say 1 out 9 men will suffer the same fate. So, even if all those men included both heteosexual and homosexual men, it still would not add up to the number of women who are victims of domestic abuse. And that remains true even if you factor in the idea that half of those abused women are lesbians!

If he's quoting a shorter life, I'd love to know how long it is shortened by...
Homosexuals live a shorter life? So what! I certainly would want children should I ever get married, and I cannot reasonably be expected to have about the same number of years remaining as someone in their 20's. That doesn't mean that I shouldn't.
I presume that the shorter lifespan is due to AIDS. Yes, there are many other diseases and addictions; Jeff presents an excellent example here.
Also, is this "higher levels of domestic violence of homosexuals" among lesbians as well? Hmm.
Many studies have shown no detrimental effect on children raised by homosexual heads of household. But, I'm also neglecting to include references here myself.
I have investigated the "science" behind this claim, and it's phony. See my comments in
this article.
Also, here is information from Wikipedia about the "peer-reviewed journal" in which these "studies" have been published: Many of Cameron's papers have been published in the journal Psychological Reports; unlike many journals, this charges authors a publication fee and does not necessarily reject an article on the basis of a negative peer review.
I think gays should adopt because gays seem far more fabulous (in general), but that's just me. Domestic violence? That's mostly the realm of big creepy insecure men who bully smaller framed women - and they can adopt.
