Hello everyone, I survived last night, Dolly had her way with us and left. The power was just restored and everything is starting to return to normal. There are still some scattered showers and a little wind, but beyond that it is a beautiful day.
I got up about, 6:30 this morning and despite the light drizzle, I went outside to inspect the damage. I was lucky, the only thing I could see, was part of my fence had been torn down. There were also a few trees in the backyard and two trees in the front that had limbs torn down. There is a couple of feet of water left behind, which due to that last couple of weeks rain, will remain for at least a week.
When the lights went out last night, there must have been some sort surge, because my T.V. is fried. I also kicked myself the moment the power went out, because I had been planning for sometime, in purchasing a small generator, something to run the fridge, the T.V. and a light or two. I never did, but I will most definitely do it next week.
I took some quick photos of some of the damage and some of the flood waters. I think we were pretty lucky.
One photo that I took, that didn't come out to clearly, was of a bird pertch on the edge of one of my windows. I guess the little guy was trying to get some shelter from the weather. Before I knew there were at least 8 birds sitting on the ledge. They stayed there till some time in morning.
