Kids and parents alike lined Main Street to watch the annual parade go by last weekend, my family and I were among those watching.
Each year our town celebrates with a two-day festival, sponsored by the local Chamber, which promises "Hometown America Events" including a parade, vendors, games, food and music. Other activities included weiner dog races, lawnmower races, a dunk tank, a watermelon eating contest, big wheel races, 9-11 safety house and a wall climbing event.
We started at the parade and then went to the high school where all the outside vendors, games and food booths were set up. The kids had a wonderful time watching the parade and playing games. Of course, the candy and prizes were a huge hit as well.
