All photos taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 through the windshield of my vehicle, cuz I wasn’t about to get out.
We definitely got some weather tonight! The monsoon came rolling in as I was sitting at the computer getting some work done. I heard the loud thunder and felt it’s vibration at my feet so I shut the computer down in a hurry, ran out the door, camera in hand, and drove the blazer up to the airport where I could get the best views.
The raindrops were pretty big and the windshield wipers couldn’t quite keep up so the pictures didn’t turn out as clear as I would have liked but mother nature is still awesome!

Now that’s one big bolt!!!!

Awesome!!!

Another big bolt!!!

Ummm…they’re getting bigger!!!

And brighter!!!

And bigger and brighter!!!!

And WAY too close for comfort!!!!

And these, if you can see them, are ice CHUNKS falling on my blazer! Not hail, but ice chunks!!!

Okay, time to leave!!!
More strikes on the way home!!! Wow!!! This is so cool!!!

(How long did it take you to calm poor Dutchess down when you got back? LOL)
Mom: I've learned to let the dogs up into the main part of the house when there is a storm. That way I don't seem to have a problem with Dutchess. I don't know what it is but during storms she needs the biggest area to curl up in the smallest place or she isn't anywhere near happy. Ooooh, storm chasing would be fun.
That lightning really was way too close at that point. When the flash of lightning and the boom of thunder are simultaneous you know you're way too close. LOL. That's when I got out of there. I am absolutely nuts and I love it!
Kim: I found that I'm really liking the "movie" feature on my camera. I can take still pictures from the movie. It's so cool!
thanks for sharing them Toni...
Hick: Now I am ROFLMAO!!! I'm starting to get convinced that I might just be in Texas. I think you're trying to brainwash me. Oh, and I don't think you'll ever see the picture of the one that hits me in the head. Wouldn't that be an awesome shot though? Just kidding.
Yep, you nut............I taught you oh-so-very-well!!
Mom: He is pretty funny isn't he? Talk about a nut!
It reminded me camping alone on the Rim a few years back during a bad storm. I was sure I was going to die! No kidding.... scared to death, if not hit by lightning, LOL. All I could do was stare at the aluminum tent poles and imagine lightning rods.... went on for hours, whew...
Thanks.
Thanks again.
