My current GPS is a late 2004 Garmin 76C. It was the third GPS I have owned and is a great model.

Over on the Georgia Geocachers Forums, someone posted links to a site called shipdog.com. This place has several current great deals on GPSrs, including the Garmin 76Cx.
I have been eyeing up this model for nearly a year because my current GPS has some minor screen marks/scratches and slight button wear, and also because I wanted serf chip technology. It should get a lot better reception in heavy tree cover also because of the improved antenna.
As soon as I saw this Ship Dog place accepted PayPal, I was all over it. My eBay sales are ahead for July and rather than using the extra money for more bills, I got this geocaching toy instead. I also should be able to eBay my current one with detailed maps installed for the minimum of half the cost of the new one. It may do even better.
I'm so psyched!

(This article is not on my feeds. I saw your mention of it on Kevin's evening update. )
Roy, ship dog has the Colorado for $345, which is the best pricing I've seen. You might as well hold off though. Garmin is scrapping the Colorado for the new Garmin Oregon.
This is a really nice unit. I've used this model even in very cold temperatures and it worked really well. The screen didn't fade out as can happen on other models, and it has a really solid 'feel' to it.
Congratulations on your new toy!!
My roommate has both a 60C and the 60Csx (and also 2 rhinos, don't ask, lol) and aside from the 76-line surviving a fall in a river, pond or lake, there isn't a lot of difference feature-wise. I have no use for the electronic compass or an altimeter (that's what the "S" part gets you). So I go with the Cx models.
Have a great day!
:-)

U wishing you laughter
It does help when you are not sure where you are going.
My husband has a GPS had it for his Truck...but now he doesn't drive semi's anymore...hopefully we can use it in the future. I told him I would want in our car.
Thank you for the comment on my photo Katie"s butt shot!
God Bless you my friend have a great evening.
It locked in satellites in the driveway in under two minutes upon initial turn-on. That's faster than my current one does now and it's already setup for this area, lol. The tree cover here is rough.
If I do any caching this weekend, I'll be trying it out :-)
Sounds like you not only got the one you wanted, but also a great deal on it too, an unbeatable mix there!
