The media select people and stories that attract readers and viewers. Obama is easy on the eyes, is articulate and intelligent and has a helluva three-point shot. McCann, on the other hand, can't keep himself awake, much less an audience. If you were a news editor, who would you feature?
Been trying to tell many. Prime Time, 8 PM. you have 30 min to for politics. After that, you have an hour for politics at let's say 10:30. You give Obama prime time and schedule McCain at 10:30.
Either way you screwed. Old people who will listen to McCain will be in bed by 10:30 and nobody will listen to him at 8 PM. The guy is a media nightmare. Only 25% of his voters are excited about him.
Now, that, is not the media's fault.
Re, Intrade. They always got it right! It's early however. Let's see what the markets say in October.
I wouldn't go so far as to say, McCain is screwed. I still think it is going to be a close race and anything can happen before election. McCain was definitely the most electable of the Republican candidates but his flip flops have cost him some of the independent support he enjoyed previously.
The media does in fact, print what is news. It's not a matter of a favorite. Most of the media in this country is somewhat right leaning but that is only evident in Fax news. The others strive to give you the news pretty straight.
Yeah lets do that. I think Al Queda has some opinions too. Americans are the only ones that matter. Thats why this whole Obama goes to see the world thing is so funny. This is like a kids book. It is time for America to wake up and lets let the grownups lead. Not some media darling who has never led on any issue and does not understand policy.
No, MDP - Americans are NOT the only ones who matter. We trade globally, we work globally, we have to have global initiatives. We are way past the time when the person in the White House can do exactly what he/she wants without serious consideration of the impacts on the rest of the world. However, I do agree that we have to let the grown-ups lead now and take the power out of the hands of the mean bullies who have stolen our hard-earned money so that they could play war and make daddy proud of them.

It's got a number of ways of contacting them. You'll have to give them specific location info, but I've heard them say this to people who called in complaining about the same issues you are having.
This comment brought me the biggest laugh of the day (so far, anyway). No matter what question or how much time allowed, all I've heard McCain or any of his spokespeople or supporters say in months is, "Well, Obama will do this _____(insert any ridiculous accusation you want).
e.g.
"Senator McCain, when do you expect you might begin withdrawing troops from Iraq?"
"You know what Obaba will do. He'll bring them home next week, before the election that he can't possibly win because his great uncle on his father's side once forgot to genuflect in a Catholic church."
Watching America. "WatchingAmerica reflects global opinion about the United States, helping Americans and non-Americans alike understand what the world thinks of current issues that involve the U.S. This is done by providing news and views about the United States published in other countries.
It is not our purpose to find favorable or unfavorable content, but to reflect as accurately as possible how others perceive the richest and most powerful country in the world. We have no political agenda."
That's pathetic. I guess you don't bother to listen to him take questions from all comers and give very intelligent answers. McCain is not as good an orator as Obama, but Obama can't think unless it's written in front of him. Do you even watch C-Span where you get more than a sound bite?
I'll pass on that. The only ones whose vote counts are American citizens. There is nothing to 'lose' in Europe or anywhere else short of America. You libs are so mushy... sort of like Europeans ;)
It is almost unbelievable to me that in the 21st century there are still actually adults - literate adults - who think that this is the case. Amazing.
If I look through the media bias, what am I going to see? McCain riding around in a golf cart with old Bush? Yeah, that's a winner!
He's so far out of it if they f*ck with the voting machines again he won't win.
No. I don't think that for one bit. I fully understand the role of technology and communication. I, unlike you liberals, understand that we can be attacked at anytime from anywhere from even small groups and I am aware of the threats of people like Saddam, and yet, I also understand that with the advent of the telephone, TV, the Internet, etc, that we are in a strong position to increase freedom and democracy in the world. If only the moonbats would get behind those two concepts.
Intrade is a sight where you can buy “futures” (place a bet) on all kinds of things; who is going to win the presidential election, will the US economy go into a recession in 2008, will the US lift the ban on offshore drilling etc. If the futures contract goes your way (say McCain wins) you receive $10. Intrade is an open market so the price is determined by what someone is willing to pay. For instance today 7/22/08 at 10:00 Central time, a Obama contract is selling for $6.53 while a McCain contract is only $3.23.

Intrade gives you instructions on how to post their charts on your blog.
If Americans are the only ones that matter, then why were we falling for the need to "liberate" the Iraqis? Would that be the conservatives talking out of both sides of their mouths and nothing more?
thanks you for the explanation!
