"I miss the feeds at the bottom of the articles to find other articles by the author I am reading...why was this removed?"This feature hasn't gone away!
It is now located on the right-hand side of the page in-between the ads. The title appears in green text and reads:
"More by _________"
The "Related Articles" section is also still around, but with a new title (also in green):
"You Might Also Like"
More 'Frequently Asked Questions' like this one will be posted throughout the day!

It is likely that the problem you are experiencing with your group is related to the problems on the site this morning. Please try again later this afternoon and then let me know if you still encounter the same error message.
The size of the banner hasn't changed, but more of the banner is now exposed (in some areas) in this new design. This also appears to vary depending upon the browser you are using.
I haven't had a chance to experiment with this yet, but some banners may need adjusting to correct for these changes.

I think it's simply a matter of poor planning and testing. I don't know what Gather needs to do now without knowing more about where the bottleneck is.
I am so glad that I am going on vaction tomorrow. Maybe this mess will be fixed by the time i get back.
I suggest lowering your expectation of what you can realistically do today, and perhaps spend some extra time in the garden or reading a book until this passes.

"Why can't I visit the Gather home page? ...every time enter gather.com I get taken to the "My Gather" page. Is this a glitch?"No. This is not a glitch. The new home page is only visible to people that are NOT SIGNED IN TO GATHER. If you are signed in, you will be redirected to your "My Gather" page.
To view the Gather Home Page, you must sign out of Gather first. Then visit gather.com.
Content and groups previously featured on the home page can now be located in a 'slideshow' format at the bottom of the "Explore" and "Group" landing pages.
More 'Frequently Asked Questions' like this one will be posted throughout the day!

Not only that, but you can also embed videos and other applications from other sites as well (these are limited though). This can cover a wide range of fun options for members, and really expands the means for members to engage others within their 'posts'.
You should also be able to embed Gather videos too, but I haven't tested this yet.

I was not much in you contest from last few days, hope this will compensate...actually, when I saw Tom's article about Dancing,I went forward to check that how come he's getting so romantic after a major upgrade and then I liked it too

Actually what will happen is that members can show a video within their article. For you the video may actually play depending upon how your filters are set up at work.
Bizarre things happening today, LOL. Somewhat expected though....
I believe that we are stuck with this the way it is, at least for a few months. I suggest that you create your own "Essentials" button on your browser's toolbar. This is a simple thing to do, and makes Gathering in this new design MUCH easier...especially with an extra layer being added to some critical links, like mail.

I know, it's taking me three times as long to do anything. I also don't dare publish the DateBook until the site is responding better. I may just publish the evening update later and wait until tomorrow for the morning edition.

What group do you want to link to? I'll create the link for you and try it.
Is this a NEW group? If it is, then links (and the group's URL) won't work for about 15 minutes following the creation of the group.

What we are referring to is the 'next' link that would appear when you are viewing one image in a member's image gallery. This would take you to the next image that member had published, allowing you to skip through an entire library one image at a time without having to back out and choose the next one from the thumbnail images.

I just noticed (I think?) that when clicking on an article it doesnt show whether you are connected/friends to the author or not anymore, and must click on thier name to find out?
So many people have similar/same names and change icons, that I found that helpful before. I tried to give more attention to friends on articles...
Or am I going nuts, ha ha???
I know! ...but I have managed to find a few things that still work from the old design, just not what we were hoping for.
I really enjoyed watching pieces of conversations floating by. I found a lot of great conversations that way.
I agree. I liked being able to see more information about a member without having to click their profile. It does give content pages a cleaner look, but I think some options could have been incorporated easily, and would have strengthened the bonds of 'community' a little more than they they are now.
At least commenting works ...Yay!
Performance on the site has improved substantially in the last hour. Let's hope it continues.

Can anyone access the redemptions landing page at all? I click my points and while it looks like information is being transferred, the page never loads. I'd like to see the status of my redemptions since I am waiting on two borders GCs.
Have you tried entering the web address directly into your browser's address bar?
The web address for the earnings page is https://earnings.gather.com
That should be an easy fix for them.
The option to send to all connections doesn't seem to be there so you have to invite each person one by one. Ewwwwwwww
It would appear that this problem still hasn't been resolved though.
I wonder how many articles have been published since Hawthorne asking how to access points/gift cards?
I have been gone most of the day so ..I am not sure of any problems with it yet!

I did notice some changes in the area of group invitations. I haven't had time to play with it yet though.
Christmas will be here before you know it...comes faster each year
The group invitation page works in the same way it did before...IF you access the page from the groupspace (home) page for the group.
Therefore, I recommend skipping the invite page when you first create a group and then accessing the older, familiar and more functional pages from your group's home page.
