It's in a little hidden corner on the left, next to the bookmark. Ratings are shy ever since the new release. But once you find them they are just as nice as ever before.
A thought on the book cover. Typically such books are in book stores. You might want to have the person BUY the book now. Otherwise they will be standing in the bookstore reading your book and the store will not get a sale.
ok I found TWO things I really do not like: that I can't get my mail from ANY old page and that you have to click or stay on the link thingy to RATE an article, why did they have to make that MORE difficult??
I like the new rating thing. Most of the DB1ers are brainless morons in the first place, so without that row of stars across the top of the comments section they may actually get lost and not be able to rate. But I'm still disabling ratings on all my stuff.
Navigation really hasn't changed, although you have to go to a different page now to find a tab to get to your mail, and to answer friend requests, etc. That's more than a little awkward. And they've totally eliminated the Gather front page - that's a HUGE mistake. I bet they change that one soon. That Explore page just doesn't fit the bill!
I was sad to see the Gather front page go away. In the preview session yesterday, they said that newcomers found the old home page "intimidating." I wasn't sure why; I always liked it.
I'm still trying to find my way around. I don't think it's as bad as Hawthorne. That was kind of a highpoint in downgrades. We're still here and we can figure this out too!
Finding email is the hardest thing. I complained enough about the last "upgrade" so I'm just going to go with the flow on this one, though I don't like it at all.
And when I did go to the front page I would feel guilty that I never went to the front page. (I was raised Lutheran - and we feel guilty at the drop of a dime).
So far so good for me too - and I even found an article thread from yesterday. I wanted to look at, to see how it had been commented on. It was somebody else's article I MEAN "SHARE" and I found it just fine.
It could be groovy, if I could saty logged in, and if I could retreive my email and friend requests from any page like before. Contrary to popular belief I don't use the feeds...but now it looks like I dont have much choice.
They've taken away the Previous/Next buttons above images. Your theory about DB1er's may be on the money. There is always at least one or two changes they don't tell us about. That's what's really irritating.
I'm glad you like it. I get so tired of people crabbing about every little thing. If something is the slightest bit different, they can't see it even though it's right in front of them! I haven't read any of the how-to posts and I've been doing as well as I ever did. Everything seems pretty obvious and self explanatory. I like it, too.
