Follow the links below to find detailed descriptions of the enhancements that were introduced today:
Navigation and Terminology Changes
You'll notice that Gather has consolidated its primary navigation into a few easy categories. You can still access all your favorite content, group, and people lists through these new links and the lists they display. Some of the site terminology is also different now, including these terms:
• Articles are now called "posts"
• Images are now called "photos"
• Publish is now called "share"
• Features are now called "Gather Picks"
Site functionality that is specific to members, such as Invite, Share, and Mail, can now be accessed from your My Gather page. learn more
New Primary Landing Pages: People, Groups, and Explore
The new People, Groups, and Explore landing pages, accessed from the primary navigation, showcase the latest and best of Gather. On the People page, find out who has a popular profile and which authors have the most content views, most comments, and highest content ratings. On the Groups page, get familiar with Gather's most popular groups and see all the new groups created on Gather each day. On the Explore page, see the most viewed, most discussed, and highest rated content on the site, as well as recent content that is shared throughout each day. learn more
Your My Gather Page and the Homepage
Gather has a new homepage that is focused on non-members. If your friends who are not members visit www.gather.com or you visit it when you are not logged in, the new homepage will be shown. As a Gather member, your My Gather page will now be your homepage on Gather. Alerts that you have unread Gather mail; pending friend requests, group invitations, or comments; and accepted invites will appear in your dashboard. From your My Gather page, you can access your profile, feeds, and all the content you've contributed to the site. You will also find your links there to the Invite and Share functionality, as well as your Gather personal messaging mailbox. learn more
We've updated our search functionality to search the entire site for terms you enter. That means you'll see results for posts, photos, videos, people, and groups that have some match to the search you ran. learn more

I've been online for about 45 minutes and could not figure out how to post an article. Or if there's a way to get back to the home page.
Everything is so close to the left side of the screen that if feels quite uncomfortable. Most other web pages have their indexes or menus on the left side. That's where people look. Not having that there doesn't seem right, and having so much text across the page looks so unprofessional. (Like a 6th grader designed it.)
You also might want to know that my computer is not allowing any ads to be shown. Someone said the ads are flashing or flashy. That's probably why. I have those kinds of ads screened so that my computer will not accept them. So what I'm seeing is white space where there should be ads. Don't think your advertisers will like that.
