Actor Christian Bale returns as the lead man Batman, with a new star - Heath Ledger as the main villain Joker. As much as the two run into each other, its hard to say who the Joker's really being personal with, or what is plan is. Sure, his actions hit many where it hurts, but what makes him a true feared villain is that he has a higher purpose that doesn't involve Batman specifically or personally like the last villains in the first film. I'd say that the Joker is personal with Gotham City, the idea of chaos, and reawakening better villains and evil inside the hearts of people instead of personal vendettas.

To achieve his theories of evil-at-heart, the Joker's main target was Harvey Dent, the 'White Knight' of Gotham city. Unlike the extra characters in Spiderman 3, Dent's character, played by Aaron Eckhart, was well woven into the plot, till the very end when he became Two-Face. And a question that many are asking is, in the end, did he live or die?
This time around, the character Rachel Dawes is played by Maggie Gyllenhaal, which sort of bugged me that they changed the actress between films, but Maggie played a much more in depth well-acted Rachel than Katie Holmes, in my opinion. I just wish they would've cast her for the first film as well ;D
Now for the ridiculous: Batman's bike that magically appeared from the 'untouched' scraps of his tank after it had been hit with numerous rockets by The Joker. But the tank realigning pieces to form a bike was only the first ridiculous thing, how this thing moves is another. The bike can climb up a wall to flip around. I'm wondering, is this thing just movie magic, or will we one day see this for sale? - of course, no tank included.
As Heath Ledger's last complete role, I believe it was a complete success, despite all the mixed opinions of if he could pull off such a character far from his normal roles. When you see Batman: Dark Knight, you don't see Heath Ledger in makeup with crazy acting, you see The Joker, and it takes a true actor to suck you into a movie and believe you are looking at the character and not an actor portraying a role, and he did that with such flare that even in the grave, he'll probably receive an oscar for his acting.
Okay, well, thats my opinions on the movie, feel free to share your own!!
