My husbands aunt called last week inviting us to his grandmothrs 95th birthday party. I offered to bring something, and she said how about fruit salad. I said ok, so Thursday my husband went shopping for the fruit. I decided I was going to make a fruit basket with a watermellon, something I've not done before. My husband bought, a watermellon, fresh pineapple, peaches, nectarines, plums, oranges, bananas, apples, grapes, cherries, cantalope and honeydew. I had to pit the cherries myself, because no store here sells a cherry pitter, they never heard of it. Ugh do you know what happens when you have to pit cherries by hand. You get red finger nails.
