It has been a while but we do have a birthday celebration today, Marsha S, http://momma2.gather.com/ is celebrating her birthday with us. As is the custom, she is has prepared her own introduction, based on the question that I have provided for her.
I have been married now for over 24 years. I have 2 grown children, a boy and a girl ages 27 and 22. One still lives at home. I don't have any Grandkids, YET. : ) I live in the Suburbs of Indianapolis.
I have been a stay at home Mom for many years and now I stay home to take care of My Mother and My Hubby. There were a few times in the past when I HAD to work and I was/am a cashier at grocery Stores or Department Stores.
I don't write professionally, I just like to write poems and tell things that are of significance in my life. I have not ever been published, but if one day that happens then I will be surprised. (Because I have never really tried to be published. : )
What first inspired me to write was myself and a grade school Teacher who loved some of my poems. I don't remember any names nor do I still have the poems. Because when I left home before turning 18, I only got to take the clothes on my back.
My Hobbies consist of: Gardening, sewing, cooking, collecting coins and certain plates, and taking it upon myself to help neighbors when I can. Devotional Bible study is another thing I do.
Some of the things I like are: shopping by myself. It gives me some alone time. And I like singing. It calms the soul and relieves stress within me. I have relieved stress this way since I was age 5. I used to sit out on my swing, singing. I like to do surveys online with different companies and get rewarded for them. Since this is my way of helping out my family while having to stay home too.
Two of my pet peeves are: people on cell phones and driving at the same time or putting on makeup and doing things they shouldn't while driving. And People who don't have respect for others property in any way shape or form.
The social issues that concern me are: Our children not being able to say the Pledge of Allegiance in school. Because It did NO harm when I was in school and it is causing harm to NOT be able to say it now. People should look around them and ask why is this happening? And then read the Book of Revelations in the Bible. : ) Another that concerns me is: Illegals coming over and us griping about rising prices on food, gas, etc,. The causes of these things is beyond Government. the more Illegals who come over is like having more children and raising the population, ergo...., My point. there are just so many issues I could cover, but these are at the top of My list.
Event/s that already transpired in my life are as follows: My Hubby & I had gained custody of 2 of our Nieces back in the 90's. My son had an open heart surgery when he was age 12. My Dad died about 10 years ago of Lung Cancer. My oldest Brother is currently in the Hospital with complications of the Heart. One of my Nieces has lost Custody of her ONLY daughter/child. But she is trying to get her back. My oldest Sister is in a Nursing home and she is only 10 years older than me. She has had Cancer for a while now.
My Strength cometh from God. Without him, I am nothing.
The one thing that I would like to do that I haven't already done is: take a 1 week cruise with my Hubby. We havn't had a vacation in for ever. Not since we been married or even since we first met. We always put our children first. Now it is my Mother whom we put first with the kids (though they are grown now). We didn't even get a Honeymoon.
My favorite birthday memory, ah, lets see. Was when I was real little and Both my parents were together and sharing it with me. My parents were divorced when I was age 7. All I remember was they were together and How I felt like a Princess. It was a day ALL about ME.
The Birthday wish I would want to come true is: To have my other house sold, so we could rid ourselves of that bill and use money for other necessary things in our lives. Because that house has been nothing but a burden to us lately. It is a thorn in my side. I wrote articles about it and posted pictures too.
