I can't decide what to do with today, or tomorrow either. Since I am sooo retired, I hate weekends. Even when we have a good number of horse campers here in this Indian reservation horse park, things are dull for me. As the only permanent person living here, I try to keep a low profile and make my cats and dogs do the same. It is dull, and I can't decide what to do to kill time. With gas so high, I can't afford to go anywhere else. If I could, I'd probably go to downtown San Diego's Balboa Park. That is always something going on there. Also they are having the annual Over-The-Line contest at the beach. It's not for me, I have to stay home.
I could write. I've got two serious articles in the works, but I don't feel like doing that. I tried to find a movie, but can't bear to watch any of the kid's movies or ancient westerns and other old films being shown right now. TV keeps showing the same tired old movies. I think there are about 50 movies out there that all the movie channels circulate forever. Hollywood has been churning out movies night and day for all of my 85 years, so where are they?
I sunk so low this morning I watched an episode of "I Love Lucy" - not one of her best. Right now I'm watching Naked Science on the National Geography channel. Some guy is studying fossil coral reefs, and has discovered that the sea level was once 20 feet higher than now. The sea is rising again, and all the people in Miami are doomed. Hurricanes will kill a lot of other people all the way up the eastern seaboard to Canada. Look out Long Island and the New York City subway system! Look out Statue of Liberty and Battery Park that are going to be under at least 10 feet of surging water! We've got global warming and it's all our own fault! WE'VE GOT TO DO SOMETHING! Al Gore, where are you?
Now the program has switched to 'Killer Lakes'. I've seen that one before. I think I'll try MNBC to find out how Barack's trip to Afghanistan is going, or I could watch sports. There is golf, tennis and Off-Road Racing in Pomona to choose from. When I watch those cut-down cars roaring over the bumps, I think of all the foul emissions from sky-high priced gasoline that is causing global meltdown.
Maybe I would like Book TV better, and if I don't like it, I'll go back to reading the latest Stephanie Plum mystery, "Plum Lucky" by Janet Evanovich. I'm in a contest at the Jacumba library to see who can read the most books this summer. I won first prize last summer. It was a nice T-shirt from the Humane Society. Even with bad eyesight this old readaholic can still beat those kids and cowboys in Jacumba at reading.
They tell us to live every day as if it were our last. I am not doing very well today. I'm thinking that the best thing I could do today is to give another try at writing those two articles, but I copped out and wrote this one instead.
I think I will have some left-over pizza and some watermelon for a late breakfast, and go back to reading my mystery. What are you doing with your weekend?

If you don't feel like writing your own stuff, why not read and comment on other people's stuff? That always helps me when I am bored.
I will watch for your next article, though.
Ruth I love Stephanie Plum and Grandma Mazur. Makes for a lovely afternoon.
So I've been outside in the lake .... we got the dock done.... and the boat is about one boat length from where it needs to be, but got hung up on weeds... I got sent in to cool off while Ross clears them all with a hoe.... looks like he's done, so off I go again *sigh*
I need more stamina.
