Heaven's Newest Star
Carol Roach
A young marine, with valor and strength
Sailed far from America, the land that he served
13 battle stars and ribbons he obtained
For an act of bravery so well deserved
His loving hands so big and strong
Yet gentle in touch
Held his sweet baby girl
He loved so very much
A loving heart and skillful hands
Were there to see her grow
Into a strong and vital woman
For everyone to know
Without his help the wayward teen
May have gone astray
But the values she holds and the woman she is
Is because of him today
A faithful spouse and loving father
A man of the cloth
His life a wondrous testimony
As leader of the flock
His life wasn't always easy,
But daunt him it could not
He braved each new day's challenges
His faith as solid as a rock
The years moved forward one by one
His health took a decline
With friends and family and daughter at his side
Together they kept the faith and prayed to the divine
The daughter nursed him to the very end
His life was not in vain
The essence of the man he was
Lives within her soul to carry on his name
There is a new light shining down from heaven
On this warm July night
Its luster and its radiance
Warms the earth just right
A daughter's heart is broken
With grief she cannot bear
But her father's love, and memory Gives strength in times of despair
Yes this new star burns brightly
And fills the earth once more
It will guide her on her journey
Until she too enters heavens door
In Memory of Rev Jessie Allen born in 1924 and who passed away on July 14,2008

What a loving tribute to one who sacrificed so much and gave in return.
The angels are singing and he is home.
Thank you for the heartfelt poem.

'Yes this new star burns brightly
And fills the earth once more'...
A beautiful tribute.
Condolences to you.
Sounds like he was a decent man, deserving of many accolades.
The idea of a new star in the heavens after the death of a loved one is so touching. One of my favorite sympathy cards to send to others on the death of a loved one is an excerpt from "Le Petite Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupéry that expresses a similar idea.
Blessings ~
Rene
Because it's you that have written this wonderful tribute, I'm not surprised at all that it's written about someone you've not known. Your inner sense of people guide you to write with your heart and soul in every word. This makes me miss my Mom and Dad Soooo much.
Hugs,
Marilyn
