Everyone needs health insurance. You will be surprised to learn about how many companies offer domestic partner benefits. This is for hetersexual and same sex partners. There is no discrimination when it comes to domestic partner benefits. To read more about domestic partner benefits, read here

Hi Cara! I know - benefits can sometimes be great for domestic partnerships! I actually just posted a discussion about a St. Paul, MN domestic partnership ordinance that recognizes committed relationships, though largely symbolically. Yes, I just got health insirance through my boyfriend, who I have been with way to long. His insurance carrier just started it March 1. So now mabe everyone else will continue to follow.

Hey Pamela. This is a great article! Thanks for posting the resources - I'm sure lots of people have found them useful! I actually just posted a discussion about domestic partnerships, and as someone who's participated in one in some respects, I think you would add a lot to the discussion. It's about a new ordinance in the city of St. Paul, MN, that allows domestic partnerships to be recognized by the city, but like I said, I think your first-hand experience would really add a lot to the discussion.
