Hi all, I'm saving for a borders card to get my 4 kids books (maybe dvds too) for christmas. They have books. But I want really good books that you all recommend. Please list your favorite or kids favorites .. thanks!
My favorite book is "Love You Forever" its about a mother loving her little boy from baby to adult..that he will always be her baby. i bought this book when my first born was a newborn.. this is how i feel about all my kids
Hmm... depends on the ages... For younger kids, my Borders has an awesome book series, each one is about a different state, and it's usually titled something like, "S is for Sunflower." For elementary readers starting to get into shorter chapter books, for girls Babysitter's Little Sisters series is nice (Babysitter's Club for younger girls), as well as the American Girl series (I particularly like Samantha, Kit, and Felicity). For boys, a lot of guys that age like Captain Underpants, but I don't have many suggestions for the boys crowd that age. Both Genders seem to like the Magic Tree House Club. For middle school girls I recommend Babysitter's Club. For boys, I really don't have recommendations here either. If you have any teens looking for good books, though, I have a wealth of advice on books, so feel free to ping me and let me know! Hopefully you get some good recommendations!
Robert Munsch books are great! The kids love how they are kind of silly. There is another called Danny in the Toybox (not sure of the author) that they love as well, but I'm not sure it is currently in print. Clifford books are good too.
My eldest son loved the "Goose Bumps" Series while my younger son loved "The Berenstein Bears" when he was very young and then of course "Harry Potter..." when he was a little older. Now he loves the Dexter books which have aired on Showtime.
You can't go wrong with Dr. Seuss. I loved "Good-Night, Moon" and "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," also the Paddington Bear series and of course the classics like "Alice" in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, Mary Poppins series, The Jungle Book, Just So Stories, and Hans Christian Andersen's stories.
