I have a Gather-Friend that is a motivational speaker... and I thought, 'maybe I can inspire people also'. So I decided to share my take on 'the line'. (I also posted one called 'Knowing you....')
The Line...
When everything is going wrong, and you feel you need a 'new beginning' then grant yourself one.
Stand up, and make a line with your heel...
Now step over it...
The side of the line you were on, is all of the things that are weighing you down, causing you stress and this includes arguments, or past issues and anything that you might need to 'clear away' to gain new insight and focus on. This side of the line will be 'yesterday'. Leave it behind you.
The side of the line you step over to, is a new beginning. Think around problems, get a new perspective on things, give yourself permission to forgive, and move on. This side of the line is 'today - and tomorrow'.
Lastly, give yourself permission to draw a line, as often as you need to.
I use this line, when arguments arise and I get my daughters to step over the line, and the promise being, we will never pull up anything that happened before the moment we stepped over the line. We also promise to work harder, work out our debts with our creditors, make up with someone or just, start anew.
The line is portable, take it where you need it. Use it when you need to.
The most important thing is that you continue to move ahead - and not back over to the other side of the line, where your problems and stress live.
I sincerely hope this helps you, it does help me.
Remember that going over to that side of the line, incurs responsibility, and total honesty - no more avoidance, no more running. Face things, face people and situations.
