Vaginal yeast infections are infections that affect millions of women in USA and the World, this condition presents with uncomfortable symptoms such as itching, burning and pain while having sex. Needless to say it cripples the life of women affecting them both in physical and psychological way.
When determining your treatment of vaginal yeast infections you have the option to treat them with medicines, using natural solutions/remedies  or a combination of both. Medications and combination treatment need to be closely supervised by a doctor as they may bring side effects. Natural treatments on the other hand offer a safer alternative to get rid of vaginal yeast infections for good – yet not many people know about them.
The issue of the treatment is very important, as people now try to stay away from chemicals in the body. With all these news about med recalls and such, it is hard to actually trust what pharmacy companies have to offer and at the same time it is good for us to start questioning if a determined treatment is indeed 100% helpful.
Treating vaginal yeast infections requires also strengthening the immune system and restoring the amount of friendly bacteria in the organism.  The immune system and the friendly bacteria (lactobacillus acidophilus) are in fact our allies when it comes to battling Candida growth in the vagina. Strengthening is done thanks to supplements of probiotics or consuming probiotic food. Personally I recommend drinking probiotic yogurt; this has been proven really helpful when treating vaginal yeast infections, on the other hand you should stop eating food that actually feeds the candida, such as bread or pasta (have you noticed the cravings lately?).
With any treatment of your choice, you don't really need to suffer. Natural and medical vaginal yeast infection treatments work fast. In fact there are natural treatment guides that have solutions that work in just 12 hours! However, with any treatment you must be consistent for the amount of time it takes, fungus infections easily spread and re-grow if they are not properly contained
Medical treatments also can work fast and they involve using topical creams or vaginal suppositories. Although these suppositories are uncomfortable to use, they act better and directly on the area. If you find that you can't use the suppositories well, you can use the help of a lubrication cream (easily found in drugstores and pharmacies).

great tips; however, paolo! acidophilus is a great supplement to be taking if you are prone to infections!!! you can find this tablets in your vitamin aisle at your pharmacy . . . or look for yogurts that contain "live cultures."
