Ok....I am going to try and redo the article I lost!!

Monday was July 14th, Bastille Day. Every year for some reason that even I do not know....I tell everyone...do you know what day it is?

This year I am off kilter! I only mentioned it to my uncaring 15 year old daughter. Who.....immediately told me...do I look like I care!

Well .....two years ago, on July 14th, I had the pleasure of finally getting into Mount Vernon. Near the end of the house tour the guide points to a big key on the wall. It was the key to the Bastille, Lafayette had given it to Washington. He had considered Washington the father of freedom.

I love history, that even comes before the haunts. ...well I guess they go hand in hand.

Tommorrow, I probably will not write until later on. I leave for Gettysburg. The extreme coolness of this trip is going to be sleeping in a house that General Lee did. Getting up at the crack of dawn, driving over to the Peace light and watching the sunrise. Of course looking in the possible direction of Iverson's pits and seeing if we notice any mists rising from the grounds.

There is something so fulfilling about sleeping in a home where such a historical figure had been. My friend is so excited, lol..we get to do an investigation..while we sleep...ok ..now that is my kinda deal!

ps...my grass is still in need of mowing ...and is now dry and burn looking...and I almost dont care. My bathroom is still not finished, the vanity is still in my dining room and so is the mirror....He keeps finding fault with the walls, yet does not fix it. He won't install the fixtures until the walls are done. I just can't win...so my house looks like ......

He won't let me put this thing away....he said it is his house too! to think I wanted a colonial theme for my living room....as usual....I did not win.
