Tyler

he lives alone

silently,

in his own chaos.

this label....

"AUTISTIC"

fits,

and pains him,

in his eyes,

he screams, SEE ME!!

but,

i can't get in to know him.

the door

to the boy we wish he was,

is tightly closed

and locked

there are many keys,

which one is it Tyler?

Ann, i appreciate you comment so much...as i have looked at your profile, i see that you do truly understand...Tyler is my nephew and i love him so much but cannot reach him..but, I am not a quitter, i dont ever give up on people i love, i will continue to find the right key to unlock his door. I look forward to getting to know you better!

Well written. I have my newest student who is academically high functioning but lost in his world. You really describe my feelings. I know that your personal knowledge of children with autism you have real knowledge and real empathy. Thank God we live in a world with people like you!
