Anheuser-Busch has been an American institution, since 1876, when it first introduced its iconic Budweiser Larger Beer. Since then it has grown to be America's largest beer brewer and owner of two of the most famous and most popular brand names in the world, Budweiser and Bud Light.
On July 14th 2008, St. Louis based Anheuser-Busch was taken over by InBev, for an estimated $50+ billion dollars. Now thanks to the acquisition, the Bud Frogs must now learn to say "Bud" with a European accent.
With piece after piece of America being bought up by the Saudis and the Japanese, I always knew that at least I could go to my favorite watering hole and order up an American made Budweiser. I knew that after a long hard week, I could count on going home, kicking up my feet, click on the Dallas Cowboys and drink my favorite beer and somehow it always made life a little more bearable.
Well now that is over, as once again, another part of American history is lost and once again the new world order comes one step closer to becoming a reality. Hopefully the Cowboys won't go on the market anytime soon and then there is always lemonade.
