Grand Canyon Holiday
What is the best way to celebrate the Fourth of July? Some would say loading the family into the car with a cooler full of soda and hotdogs, driving to a park, wading through a sea of humanity to find a grassy spot to drink your sodas and watch the fireworks.
No. Crikey James and Sparky Tara found a better way, drive 70 miles down a washboard road in the middle of the night to watch the sunrise on one of America's greatest treasures.
Sunrise at Tuoweep
It was breathtaking. The weather service issued a perfect weather forecast for the Fourth of July. The few wildfires in Arizona caused some haze in the morning, but the Grand Canyon imposed its' beauty through the clouds.

3,000 feet above the canyon, we could still hear the roar of the Colorado River.

From here we drove to the North Rim, it was a perfect way to spend Independence Day, we were truly
free that day.
