I have not met anyone who was extremely famous, but I have met a few semi-famous people. The first one I met was Jerry Palliada in 1st grade. He is/was a childrens author and wrote the books such as Extinction A-Z, Mammals A-Z etc. He always made his books fun to read and he had a lot of humor and wit to him. I still have the three books he signed for me to this day. In elementary school we would often have famous childrens authors come by and sign books as well as talk to us, it was always fun and I found so many great books!
My next encounter came this past spring when our college was graced(?) with the prescence of two of the editors for "The Onion." The Onion is a satrical newspaper and its hilarious. The two editors who came had the autotorium in hysterics as they were banned from cursing and other foulities (a play but still good) and created a swear jar. Too many bad words or mistakes and they put in money. Towards the end one ended up ripping off his shirt with no money left.
Outside of writing-I went to school with one of the band members from Yours for mine (once known as the red letter days) and semi-knew some of the other members (the one guy goes to my college last time I checked). You can see them at purevolume.com/yoursformine. Otherwise, I haven't met anyone famous other than writers! There are so many actors and other famous people I would be overjoyed to meet such as Erin Gruwell and actors Robin Williams, Bill Murray and Michael J. Fox. There are a few music bands and opera singers I'd enjoy meeting too.
So share with us, who have you met thats famous, or who do you dream of meeting?
