I Got the results back from my Capsule Enteroscopy and we found out what the problem is....

I got a phone call today from my Doctor, they have found the reason for my anemia. It seems that I have a huge ulcer in my small intestine caused by previous surgeries and scar tissue that hasn't healed properly. Also the camera from the capsule enteroscopy is stuck in a pocket in my small intestine that formed when they did surgery several years ago. They will have to do surgery to fix the ulcerated section and to remove the camera. At least I know the cause of my problems now. I should be hearing from them soon as to the details of the surgery. Looks like I am going to have to start back to work late this year as if I didn't already have enough problems with the school district concerning my absences the last couple of years. School starts the 15th of August. I'll most likely have a 6 week recuperation period after surgery. Darn it any way!!!!! UPDATE 7/19/08 I have an appointment set up for a consulation with the surgeon on the 23rd. of July. I should know more about a surgery date then!

Its amazing what they can do with technology now a days..I remember when a camera small enough to be swallowed was something you'd only see in a Sci-Fi movie!
