Hello, my name is Rose. I am a gather photo addict:) This past week has seen a lot of changes in my garden and I realized that I could not step out of the door without my camera.
So, if you are up for one more visit to my garden, I will be glad to show you around.
First, there were the tree guys, taking down our 40 foot Jacaranda tree.
Jacarandas are beautiful trees planted for their fast growth and loved for their lavender and purple blooms.
The trouble is they are also the number one tree to cause damage during a storm or more important for us Floridians during a hurricane.

Since we are adding an addition to our home, we had little choice but to remove the old tree which had also grown way over into the neighbor's yard. Lucky for us, she is a nice old lady and our experienced tree guys did a great job, without damaging her property or leaving any messes for her to deal with.
The palm tree strung with lights in the right front of the pic was one of three palms which also had to make room for our addition.
HAPPY TREE GUY!

A butterfly came by for a visit,
while our Jacaranda tree was still standing.

The afternoon before,
I noticed a bloom on our hibiscus and opted for a shot showing off my ceramic toad below.

The next day,
I took a look around the garden right after the rain and found the first blooms this year on my whirligig center hibiscus.

Watch out for that spiderweb!
It's a cool looking red spider - sort of alien looking, almost square with spikes.

Since I know it is not poisonous, here is a good view of our little red spidey.
He's been busy - can you see the red spider in the center?

Mini-Kitty Fluffball our resident princess kitty decided to honor me with her company,
but quickly became bored with spidey pics.
She went off into another corner of the garden to find her own entertainment.

Let's see how the bushes in the garden bed have fared in the rain.
I don't remember what this bush is called, but it looks pretty this time of year.
It is a six foot bush with green leaves most of the year. The blooms are white leaves and miniature yellow star flowers.

There are a couple of the African daisies visible too, they are a darker gold color.
The bougainvillea in it's purple splendor is always a joy to see.
I do like the itty bitty white centers and sometimes you can see the green striations on the white flower center too.

Pssst, I am sneaking in this picture of the yellow flowering tree in my neighborhood.
It is not really in my garden, but I wanted to share it with you anyway:)
A tropical beauty!

Our bougainvillea loved all the rain.
So here is one more look at those gorgeous purple blooms.

Today I went out and captured what I consider my best star jasmine picture yet.
I don't know what it is about this bloom, but it is very hard to take a close up without it showing up all blurry.
Isn't it pretty? Has a heavenly scent too!

Over in the corner by the herb garden,
I spotted the pink miniature roses in full bloom.

Thank you for coming along for a tour of my garden today - it was my pleasure!

Our goal is to help you further your exposure and to support other gather members.
Thanks so much for posting this to
my group
Your tree men really had a lot to contend with by the looks of the shot with the smiling tree man.
Looks like the rain really made your garden happy and a delight for us all to enjoy. ;)
You have a cute little toad too!
From what I've heard here Americans won't do that kind of work;-)
'
Katherine - give it a shot. I get my hibiscus from the hibiscus growers at the annual Green Thumb Festival. I bought a new one this year, but it hasn't flowered yet. I think that yellow one is a definite winner, can't wait for it to get bigger and have more blooms.
Esther, yup, it was a huge job - they had four guys - one doing the wood chipping and one doing the lugging and the two tree climbers.
Everyone - thank you so very much for coming by with your nice comments!
That looks so cool in the photos you took of the guy in the tree.
arlene,
Lakewood florist
loved this haven't even had time to go to my classicpalm sight did you publish there if not please do!!
I'm having a huge ash tree removed tomorrow. The emerald green ash borer killed 3 of them already. This is the last one left.
I love the whirley-gig hibiscus. I'll have to see about getting one for next summer.
I look forward to more of your garden tours.
Ok, enough of that. Dont tell my hubby.
Thanks for the mini tour.
