Robin Williams is an actor I've always enjoyed, even when I was little. I loved Jumanji, Aladdin and all of his earlier films. But, I never thought of him as my favorite actor. The one actor whose movies and performances can turn your mood from gloom to upbeat, or the one who can save a terrible movie and make it worth watching, or even see a movie you wouldn't otherwise see if he/she wasn't in it. I didn't realize Robin Williams was my favorite actor until one day while sitting with some friends, one pointed out his favorite was Robin Williams. I realized that even though I'd never openly thought he was my favorite, I knew he was.
I have watched more than half of the movies he's made, and in each he displays his own unique charsma and acting style. He can play the psychotic villian (Insominia, One Hour Photo) the innocent, eager to learn one (Mork and Mindy, Biccential Man) or even the humorous/serious role (Mrs. Dobutfire). Mork and Mindy is my favorite TV show, and without him, it wouldn't have been the same. Having watched all but the final season, you see a change in the series and Mork's character to a degree and its not bad but only good or decent not great or fantastic like the second season was. Many of my favorite movies feature him in some way, and hes an actor whose movies I see just because he's in them.
Outside of acting, he does Stand-up, almost all of which I have watched. I'm not a fan of crude, perverted or mature humor, but even so I still enjoy what Robin Williams says. He's made his mistakes with alcohol and drugs, but I still admire his amazing ability and his own uniqueness. Its a small dream of mine to meet him someday, or at the very least get his autograph, it would be an honor. On those days when I'm done, I can put in season one of Mork and Mindy and watching the series with him as well as the wonderful other actors and actresses I can see the world in a better light. It cheers me up and at the same time reassures me the world is going to be alright.

Ginny-I'm a big fan of Johnny Depp myself. He has charm and can pull off any role, and I like how he avoids too much publicity for his family.
Everyone is great no matter who they are, they impact someone someplace in their life.

Jennifer-I think the media does too. He's a good guy, sure he has had problems, but we all have (maybe not drugs and the likes) but him as well as other actors love what they do and have passion. The media concentrates too much on the negative, not the positive.
Johnny Depp does it in a different way by having his family in another country out of the spotlight. I really admire actors that protect their children.
Christopher Reeve did so much to bring awareness that you can achieve so many goals in a short period of time. Also must say his wife was an amazing women and was so sorry when she passed away from lung cancer and she was a non-smoker.
