I have lived in this apartment for about 20 years. I have been in the classroom for over 30. In that time I have had to totally empty three classrooms - once before asbestos abatement, twice to change from place to place. I also broke up with a long time companion - clearing out all that I'd brought to his house - clothing, houseware, EVERYTHING.
So... even though I have a LARGE apartment, you can't see the forest for the trees (or is it the floor for the bundles).
Much of what is here is teaching material - I am packing it up to bring in to where I used to work. I did a lot of that last school year - there is MUCH more to go.
I have been acting like the mad hatter at his tea party - use a satchel, fill it with tons of papers, find another clear/clean satchel and start again. So, today, I am clearing satchels. I've gone through two satchels and one plastic bag - Yay! I have taken down four bags of garbage! Yay!
Do I see a difference - NO!
It's day one... there are MANY more days to go.
Wish me luck. I need it. This is NOT something I am at all good at. Give me a book and I am happy. Cleaning and clearing do NOT make me happy. Finding the space will, but who knows how long it will take before I can see a difference? Not I.

I tell myself if I just finish this cupboard or that dresser I will let myself read for an hour.
Good luck!
