Teens won't have the chance to win the weapon this year at the Windsor Hills Baptist church's youth weekend. KOCO reported that the giveaway, run by the Oklahomah City-based church, has been cancelled this year because the pastor emeritus, who ran the event, injured his foot and won't be able to attend.
The youth pastor, Bob Ross, promises that the $800 gun will be put into the hands of some teen next year.

Alexandra, I also think that gift cards would be far more appropriate.
Debra, I come from a rural area where there is a lot of hunting. I'm not a hunter, but I had a mandatory hunter's safety course in 6th grade. There would be a lot of opposition in areas such as this to a minimum age being set.
However, I think that even most hunters would agree that handing out semiautomatic weapons to teens at church functions probably isn't the best idea.
