It is always hard to be the one left behind and especially when the one going on is your child. I know how hard it is to see something that jumps into your mind or heart that you want to share with the person who is no longer there and even 30 years after the fact, I still have to remind myslef sometimes that the joke I just heard or the incident I just witnessed cannot be told to my dad even though he would love it. I come at this from the other side as the daughter who lost a dad but the pain is still the same. My dad died on July 4th so every year it is a day that I cannot "forget" about but I am more open to it being a more joyful day and not one to shy away form any more.

this is a very beautiful and loving tribute. Of all the losses we could suffer here on earth, the hardest would be your child, no matter the age. My grandmother has outlived most of her younger siblings, and also 3 children, and the main thing that comforts her is knowing they are at peace with God now.

I cried when I read it. Our dear friends just lost their daughter and other friends lost their granddaughter last week. They also have the comfort of knowing where their precious ones are!

You know I feel your pain. I am so sorry my friend. Losing your child is something you never ever get over. You just have to learn how to get through each day. And you start by putting one foot in front of the other. Almost six years later, I am still doing just that. This is a wonderful tribute to your angel. My heart goes out to you.

I hope this helps others to 'let go' that's when healing begins. Holding on to the loss of a love causes so much pain, but letting go is when you can start to live again. Thanks for saying it so beautifully.
