I need party games for a 1950's party!

We're in the planning stages of our annual neighborhood party here at the lake.  Our theme this year is the 1950's.  Since most of the folks are north of 50, the limbo and hula hooping are pretty much out, but does anyone have ideas for games relating to rock & roll, the 1950's, sock hops, etc.,?  Any games that you've played and enjoyed would help!

I would really appreciate suggestions or links.  The pirate and western themes were easy, but this time, I have yet to be inspired.  Of course, I will post photos after the party in August!

I was born in 1959 but all my sister's are all much older. What about a few board games, charades, card games, name that tune. That's all I can think of .

Pin the tail on the donkey is fun at any age. You can change it to fit any theme....such as pin the lime on the margaritta glass (using big cutouts)

I guess spin the bottle is out too... I thought of the Limbo. How about playing songs and telling them how to dance to that song.. Example... this song will be done in cha cha, this song will be done as the twist, the pony, the stroll, etc..

North of the 50, I like that saying...

Well, I was going to suggest that old one where you change clothing laid out on the floor, but that wouldn't work for the North Of the 50 group. How about pin the tail on the balloon....

I'd say stick with stuff like charades, name that tune, jeaopardy.. maybe some kind of 50's trivial pursuit sort of thing..

Suze already mentioned what I had in mind. I think charades of people or characters, tv shows, movies, news events etc from the 50's would be fun. Maybe a dance contest!

I had a 50's party, my first boy/girl party when I was in 6th grade. I got the ideas out of a book I bought from Scholastic. Sadly, the only game I remember playing is the one where you blow a cotton ball across the room.

How about those old Mad LIbs fill in the blank word games? They can be as daring or tame as you want, although the do get a bit strange sometimes. Also, if you watch old 50s movies, you'll see some games that were played. One of the more risque' ones involved passing an orange from one person to another using only one's head and neck, no arms. That was shown in the movie Charade.

Although that couldn't have been made in the 50s, that movie, I don't believe. Charades is great for those who like to be in the spotlight. I'd include some games for anyone who is a bit shy as well. Mad Libs might work.

We're going to have a treasure hunt! There will be 8 teams of 4. Clue #1 will be printed on the back of a 45 rpm. record printed on card stock. The records have been "broken" into 4 pieces. Each player picks a piece and finds the other three members of his team. When they put the pieces of the record together, they'll have the first clue. There are six clues that will have them hunting from one end of the property to the other and back again! We're having a balloon popping game, too, and the blind auction.
