The Bullock Hotel originally opened in 1895 on the site where Seth Bullock and Sol Star located their hardware store in Deadwood, South Dakota, in 1876. After a fire swept through the business district of this busy mining town in 1894, Seth took full possession of the property, built a brick structure and opened it as a hotel, promising a fully plumbed water closet on each floor. He died of cancer in 1919 at the age of 70. Some say he was at his ranch in Belle Fourche at the time, while others report he was in room 211 of his hotel. (I think it's much more likely he died at Belle Fourche.) Whichever the case, it is believed his spirit is very much active on the premises where so much of his finances were at stake. When a British medium by the name of Sandy Bullock became involved in its paranormal activity, this haunting was considered extraordinary enough to warrant a segment on the NBC show Unsolved Mysteries in 1992. I yearned to visit this hotel ever since it aired and it finally happened last year. However, there are ghost stories all over the town of Deadwood, which was officially designated a historic district in the early 60s.
In my review of the Bullock Hotel, I mentioned I caught orbs in several pictures I took during my visit. This is more than any other place I visited. When I received the prints, most are barely noticeable, but they showed up loud and clear in the jpegs. I know serious researchers don't take orbs seriously, but I wouldn't mind other people's input.
The one with the green spot in the mirror particularly intrigues me. The reflection from the flash of the camera is obviously white, so why does it have a different color? When enlarged, it has the vague features of a face, possibly a woman. Seth had a big, bushy mustache during his adult life. Some people believe his wife, Martha, and a little girl haunts the hotel as well.
I wouldn't mind hearing other people's thoughts on these photos. A co-worker has already told me to clean my lens, so please don't go there .

There are three large orbs in a photo I took this Christmas.
I like to think the orbs are actually my grandparents & great grandmother.
You never know.
This sounds like a great hotel & full of interesting history!
