I never had any relief when I was married and had 5 sick kids, or when I was sick. He didn't see why I couldn't still do all the things I did when I was well and he never lifted a finger to help.

hmm my dad used to crawl around on all fours groaning and then climb upon the couch and remain there the next few days, later he had to care for my mother round the clock and then his new woman until she committed suicide....so he was busy but in truth someone should have been caring for him, though i tried

One thing about taking care of yourself and kids is that when you get older you know how to do it. I learned how to do a lot of things that many women can't do and it has helped me a lot in the 24 years I have been divorced. Now if I just knew how to do plumbing. I have a leaky pipe problem under my kitchen sink and and mulling whether to have it fixed or go ahead and do my new countertop and new sink now instead of after I finish sanding down my cupboards and restaining them.
