Father's Day 2008: Newport, Oregon photos ----- part 1

This year for Father's Day we decided to drive about 2 hours away to have dinner on the Oregon Coast, so we loaded up the truck and ended up in Newport, Oregon. Here are some random shots from the trip, taken on the Historic Bayfront where we had dinner at Mo's, shrimp salad sandwiches and clam chowder.

Unfortunately it was a really quick trip so I didn't take any shots of the Wax Museum or Ripley's Believe It or Not, but captured some of the unique coastal shops in Newport.

I'm splitting the articles up into a few parts because I took a lot of pictures and I'll post additional articles as I'm able to upload the photos.

Thanks Deb --- I really like Newport... it's a fun place to visit for the day. We were only there for a few hours though and I wanted to take a lot more pictures, so maybe next time we'll be there longer.

I have never been to the east coast except California and Wyoming. I sure wish I had been one of those who were vacationing when I was grown. Most of my traveling was as a teen, as a companion to an only child.
Your photos make me want to take a trip. Wilma goes to the coast a lot. I wonder if she gets to the same places?

Wish I'd been there. I loved the Oregon coast. My sister told me yesterday we went to Estoria and Canon, among other places. There was a small town with a train that ran down what we think was the Main St. Had some tourist stores, one of which we really did go in, and had an ice cream shop that we spotted and got ice cream. Nice beach. But neither of us can remember the name. It was far south from where we started, and from there we turned around and went north of where we started. Do you know where the town is with the train on Main St. ?
