As a child, one of my worst nightmares involved hiding in a linen cupboard as a line of two-foot-tall red ants walked through my hallway with my parents and my sister on their backs. Just when I thought I was safe, the cupboard popped open and one of the ants started carrying me towards their nest.
It may sound silly now, but it was terrifying to a three year old. To this day, ants in large quantities still creep me out. I know other people have similar strange nightmares when they were children. I was wondering what kind of weird dreams you guys have had. Let me know in the comments.

As a kid my sister took me to the movies to see "Dinosaurous" and it scared me to death. I had dreams for years(?) of a T-Rex chasing me around the neighborhood. Some scenes in that old movie were later used/borrowed in Jurassic Park by the way.
Another was a sign of the times back then as well. The Russians were landing in the back yard and shooting us, as well as nuclear bombs going off etc. That was back when "drop drills" to cover up for bombs falling was practiced in schools all the time... Duck and cover!!! Gave me nightmares!
Sooraj, that's hilarious that they are more likely to get you in a public street. Very silly too. I have been having weird recurring Disneyland dreams since that age, so I know how it feels.
John, the Russian's thing killed me. I'm sure it was scary at the time, but to think about it these days, it's just cute.
What do you mean go to bed? Like I'm going to get any sleep that night... the Rooski's are coming, ahhhhh!
It was during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and everybody thought war was imminent; almost was... Crap, they used to test the air raid sirens every Friday at 5 o'clock or something there for a while.
It does seem surreal now though... ;-)
