When it Rains, it Pours....what else can go wrong on vacation...

Well, I was informed by my brother the other night that my minivan had a flat...and not just any flat either. I somehow ran over a piece of metal that severly puntured the tire, and yes, beyond repair. Now, money is really, really tight at the moment, and replacing 2 tires was not in the budget. I didn't have a choice though. 800 miles from home with no checkbook either. I had to leave it with Mike back in Georgia.

Bright and early yesterday morning dad and I went out to get new tires....got cheap ones, since I can't really even afford these. Total cost came to about $170. YIKES!!! Now dad has the minivan torn apart and is trying to fix the squeeky belt. I do hope he doesn't find anything else wrong...or if he does, it's cheap to fix. My supposed "cheap" vacation is turning into a nightmare.... though I do know dad will fix the minivan. He knows without it, the kids and I will be stuck at his house...LOL.

Guess my computer will have to wait to get fixed...NO MONEY. Angela really hates me using her computer too...not that I blame her.

some vacation this is turning out to be...I am doing more "babysitting" than anything else (sigh).

The good part is your Dad can work on the van. The bad part is you didn't anticipate tires having to be bought. Well, better now than on the trip back home. You still have time to enjoy your vacation and I hope you do. Glad you are getting on the computer some too, so we get to hear from you.

Now if you had come to SC to vacation with me all this may not have happened and you would hot have been so far from home!!!!! LOL

Well, that is a bummer. We've had to do that ourselves twice and you're right. It's not fun especially when it's not in the budget to begin with. I'm sorry things aren't going the way you expected. Maybe things will settle down once the van gets fixed.

Well, if bad things happen in threes like debra said, then I guess I should save my compaining because I still have one more thing to happen to myself. really do know how you feel right now, sometimes I feel like I am drowning lately.

Sorry about your tires and the additional $ I understand! I read the poll today on gather asking if we feel safe with our banks etc. I thought well I would have to actually have some money in the bank to be worried about it being safe lol
