How come page views seem to be smaller than the actual number of people who have looked at an article?

views: 29 | comments: 16
I don't get that.  I've noticed that on quite a few articles I've looked at.  You will see that there will obviously be..say 10 different people, who have commented on an article, but yet page views will only be like 3?  I don't get it?  Wouldn't those people have to view the page if they left a comment?

You definitely have a point with your numbers. With me, I've never had this happen. I usually get at least twice as many page views as I do comments. I even have one article with almost 1,100 page views, but less than 100 comments.

How do you know the page views are different. I don't see anywhere it says number of page views. All I see is the rating 10/10 2 votes.

It's weird. I can't remember who's article I looked at yesterday, but it was something crazy where they had a ton of comments from different people, but only 3 page views. Weird. lol

When you open up the article, pic, or video, it will have the date right under the topic. Right under the date and immediately to the left is the views, followed by the ratings, and comments. :)

I think the page views take a while to catch up... that's just what I've noticed though...

As Anne mentioned above, there is a delay before page view counts will catch up.

Also, as Marianne mentioned, page view counts are very inaccurate. Some members clear their browser cookies regularly, and this increases the page view count each time they look at any content...even if they have already viewed it.

I've noticed that myself. I figured it was a delay for the counts to be updated. Why it would happen sometimes and not others - who knows.

I thought the only time view count was less than comment count was if the author themselves had commented a lot; that it won't count the authors views more than once or something? I dunno'...

I don't even notice things like page views and stuff... I just worry about commenting back to people who comment to me...
