Scammers Will Stop at Nothing - Wow!
by Marilyn Mackenzie
I know, I know...I shouldn't read the emails.
But you do have to shake your head at this one.
Like everyone else, I've gotten hundreds of emails claiming that one of my relatives died and I have money coming to me. It's weird that they all lived in Nigeria.
Then a while back, I got that email that was supposed to be from the FBI or the CIA, telling me that I had gotten a scam email from someone in Nigeria, and they wanted my help to catch they guys. And my bank information, of course. Right.
Then last week I got that new email claiming to be from Nigerian government to give me money because I had previously been scammed. It told me that that email from the FBI/CIA was also a scam. Well, duh.
I told you that since I just got off the turnip truck, believed this last email, gave them all of my personal information and sat here waiting for my millions to arrive. Sure.
But wait! Today I got another email supposedly from the FBI. Boy is it good. It uses real FBI names, the real FBI physical address and URL for their web site.
And this email... Well, for someone who believes any of this stuff, it might be scary. It says that if I don't do as instructed, they will charge me for "ILLEGALLY MOVING FUNDS OUT OF NIGERIA ."
It's like a story that continues each week.
I know, I know. I should just delete them.
