You've read my short story, "Fall of the Estrela," in July '08's Midnight Times magazine, right? (If not, go to http://towerweb.net/mt/midnight_times.shtml .)
And you've visited the Torquere Press website to see the Love Bites book, right? (If not, go to http://www.torquerebooks.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1336. Worth it for the cover art alone, I promise.)
Well, then, if you've enjoyed either of those two things, you'll be as excited as I am over my latest literary acceptance e-mail. This one is from Bent Magazine, publisher of a wide range of M-M romances and reviews, from very sweet to very naughty. Yes, I'm usually in the very naughty category, but this short story that's going to appear in Bent is definitely sweet. Totally PG-13. Less risque than your average episode of Gossip Girl.
This one's called "Bat Mitzvah." In it, young Sophie Rothstein-Steel has more than her faith on her mind on her big day. She's also cooking up a scheme to hook up her uncle Mark with the newly-single, really cute temple cantor.
It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I am going to get to work with an Israeli-American editor to make sure I've got all of my details down. I love it when a mag assigns an editor; it always makes a good story into a great story. (Hence, why I love working with Clean Sheets.) So I'm excited. Hope you'll check it out. I'm thinking the next issue of Bent comes out in September. You can check at http://www.bent-magazine.com/.
And, as always, you can get plenty more O'Riordan material at www.aeess.com. At aeess, we're still eagerly awaiting the release of my first full-length novel, Beltane, from Eternal Press. Read on!
