I don't know if you have bought tires at a store that fills them with Nitrogen, but it is something that you should look into. Though there are not many places that do it yet, it is well worth the investment and can help you get better gas mileage for your car.
The reason that Nitrogen filled tires should be on your priority list is due to the unique nature of Nitrogen. You see, with air filled tires, when the temperature changes, the air in the tires expand or contract, giving you a constantly changing tire pressure.
Now, we all know that tires that are at the right pressure give you better gas mileage, and even if your tires are just a little empty, your gas mileage decreases significantly. But with Nitrogen, the pressure does not change with the temperature, so that your car gives you the best mileage possible on every tank of gas.
Does it cost more?
Well, it didn't for me, but this would definitely vary store to store. Be sure that the next time you get new tires, ask if they can be filled with Nitrogen: not only will your wallet thank you, but so will the environment.
