This Is Just A Dream-Carrie Underwood

I first heard this song on the way home from Wal-Mart earlier. Sadly this happens all too often today with young couples in which one is in the military. They lose their love during the engagement or shortly after the wedding. It's hard to fathom just what is going through their heads when the unthinkable happens, but I think Carrie summed it up pretty nicely. They are thinking this isn't happening. It's only a dream. He/she is coming home soon. Leave it to Carrie Underwood to come out with yet another song that will hit so close to home for so many of her fans.

Today!? What about the 60"s. It was happening then also.

She definitely has great writers for her songs, but I'm in the same boat as Patti. As least the majority of the artists in the 60's and 70's wrote their own songs. I think Carrie Underwood is a great singer, I just don't like how American Idol instantly catapults someone who otherwise wouldn't be known.

That is true, there are a lot on the radio now that if it wasn't for American Idol or Nashville Star they wouldn't be there. I'm not saying the 60's weren't bad in all honesty I wasn't around then to experience that. This is the first I've noticed almost first-hand the effects being in the military can have on a person. Several of my friends are in or have spouses in one branch or another.

Things happen. It's not being in the military that's the problem. It's the loss of intimacy with that missing person that's one of the causes of divorce. What if that person comes home from stress in the battlefield? That's just one of many problems.
