Problems using Gather on Firefox

I always use firefox and have no problems. I am using IE now becaause  tonight Gather on the Firefox browser  is being very weird.

 

Everytime I try to rate or comment I get transfered to the main Gather page and my rating or comments don't go through... I cleared the cookies but that didn't help.....any suggestions??

 It seems ok but a bit slow on IE.

hmm i had problems with firefox awhile back too.. but i cleared the cache & cookies & it seemed to work.. & i've had no problems with the new firefox.. knock on wood ! hope it works again soon for you !

I only use Firefox for publishing articles and loading pictures. I use Safari for the other. Unfortunately, Safari doesn't work for articles very well but it works better for commenting.

I suggest signing out of Gather (on Firefox), then signing in again. However, be certain to check the "Keep me signed in" box when you sign in.

The problems you are experiencing are often connectivity related.

When I sign back onto Gather I get this message

When I click back onto Gather from the link in my bookmarks I am still signed in but still unable to rate or comment.

Firefox is working fine for me a lil slower tonight than normal, but it's not just on Gather.

I suggest signing out of Gather, clearing all cookies and cache (again).

Then, manually visit the Gather home page and try to sign in there. Don't use any bookmarks to access any pages.

You may also try holding down the Ctrl key while pressing the F5 one time (in Windows).

My only problem with Firefox is when I open multiple tabs and and I can't open any of them. I probably have a ton of cookies. I should do some cleaning...

Glad kevins last suggestion worked.

I type in gather.com on my brouser because when I was using a bookmark it created problems..

I hit the back arrow,
jump into an article of interest from the home page and sign in there, I don't use firefox,
But I do know that when a article has alot of activity, my computer will sometime run funky, or I will type and the letters appear real slow,
Hope you continue to have good luck, every hour or so depending on lenths of a article I sign out of gather goto my homepage and clean cookies/ cashe and my computer runs fine less clutter :)

You need Firefox for the speed yet the cookies
they get at things, spy material builds up as
well. What Operating System also is imporant
Open Source is good Uncle Bills things get
clogged up and need cleaning.
I was using firefox up until the hawthorne update.....it was such a pain I ended up getting rid of it and started using IE, which has been great for publishing, but my AOL is still fastest at commenting and rating....so I usually have both on....

I've been having that problem off and on the last couple days. Seems to be when I'm first starting out for the day. Seems it helped also for me to sign out of my email account but could be my imagination. Good luck!

I'm glad that Kevin's suggestion worked. Are you using Firefox 3.0? I have a group Computers and More, and Debra C. has written several excellent articles about the new Firefox. She describes both the postive things and any issues she has encountered with it. You should check them out, because they might help.

Usually for me foxfire is really the only one that lets me do a lot of things .
I still can not do photo essays no matter which one I use AOL , Foxfire, or explorer. I have tried them all and nothing.

If this comment goes through, unlike the last four, then what *I* did was clear everything (again) and sign in using the IE Tab in FireFox.
