"Rain, rain, go away, come back another day."
So at least that is what we used to chant as children. Our summers were long, and we sailed through our days in school, fueled by the anticipation of the afternoon, playing shirt and skins football, in empty lots and neighborhood parks.
How I long for those days, now that my life is filled with grown up thoughts and responsibilities.
(It has been raining off and on, for the last couple of days. I had planned to take off to Corpus and San Antonio, just to decompress, but due to this or that I haven't been able to do so. Now I sit here in my office looking out through my window at the pouring rain. Makes me long for a simpler time, a time of child thoughts and no responsiblilities.)

We have been having rain each day for several days here, too. After the extreme lack of rain we have had for the last year this feels pretty good. Of course I will have to mow the lawn. Whatever that green stuff is it has to be kept low.
