I checked the mailbox today, and found my eviction notice in the mail. Now, before you decided that I have done something wrong, let me just set the record straight. You see, the housing complex that I live in has been rezoned and they are turning it into a business park.
But before they can build the commercial buildings, they are moving the townhouses that we live in to another area of the city so that the housing stock can be reused. There is a housing shortage right now, so they don't want to just bulldoze everything.
We knew that we would be receiving a notice at some point, but it still fells like we have been dealt a blow of sorts.
On the brighter side of things, at least we now know when we have to be out of our home - sometime before October 1st. So, I guess I better get packing.
